Dtech Etchant Etching Gel Syringe. 37% phosphoric acid gel. Silica free, high quality, non – drying, medium viscosity gel. Thixotropic ,stays put, does not run. Visible blue colour. Has excellent water solubility. Disposable tips save time and are more sanitary. Etching Gel is indicated for etching of dental enamel, dentin and/ or cementum prior to adhesive bonding. The gel may be used in the Total-Etch or Selective-Etch Techniques, or to enhance the enamel etch of Self-Etch Bonding Agents. Etching of enamel and dentin surface prior to making: composite, sandwich composite or “bonded” amalgam fillings, adhesive fixation of aesthetic ceramic or composite veneers cementation of fixed prosthetic, restorations with composite cement, adhesive splints in periodontics, fixation of orthodontic brackets.

Gel for the etching of enamel and dentin is silicon gel of phosphoric acid having blue color with the addition of stabilizer.  Recommended time for enamel etching: not less than 15 seconds, for dentin – from 5 to 15 sec. Then thoroughly rinse with water and dry the etched surface.  The consistency gives handling properties required by all dentists such as exact application at the correct time and a complete rinse off with no phosphoric acid left in the cavity.
