- Angelus MTA Mineral Trioxide Aggregate 2 Doses .28gm. The diverse application of MTA in the practice of pediatric dentistry is evident in its use as an apical barrier in immature non-vital teeth and in the coronal fragment of fractured roots, as a pulpotomy medicament in primary and permanent teeth, a pulp capping agent in young permanent teeth, and as a repair material for perforation and resorptive defects.
- A variety of MTA products are on the market. Both products have demonstrated similar physicochemical and biologic properties, differing mainly in chemical composition. In 2001.
- Ions Calcium Release: enhances the formation of mineralized tissues; provides the biological seal of perforations and total repair of damaged periradicular tissues. It is used primarily to seal lateral root perforations[1,2] and as a root-end filling material. The difference between the grey and the white materials is the presence of iron in the grey material, which makes up the phase tetra calcium alumino-ferrite.
-
- Endodontic failures may occur as a result of leakage of irritants into the periapical tissues.1 Therefore, an ideal orthograde and/or retrograde filling material should seal the pathways of communication between the root canal system and its surrounding tissues; thus, this material should be biocompatible and dimensionally stable.
- High radiopacity: higher radiopacity than that of dentin, allowing excellent radiographic visualization.
- Setting time of 15 minutes: shorter setting time than similar cement.
